Walks around the Stonehenge landscape

We have a range of walks through glorious Wiltshire countryside which we can tailor to meet your requirements and abilities. A few examples of walks that we have arranged are provided below.
Durrington to Stonehenge* - Time 2 Hours; Distance 2 1/2 miles View of Stonehenge seen on our walking tour
Starting from Durrington Walls this walk takes you through Woodhenge along to the Cursus then the King Barrows down the Avenue and up to the Stonehenge monument. This walk provides you with spectacular views of the Stonehenge area rarely seen by the million people who visit the site each year. This really is a superb walk with some tantalising glimpses of Stonehenge as you approach.

View of Stonehenge seen on our extended walking tourExtended Walk - Total Time 4 hours; Total Distance 7 miles
Continue from Stonehenge across to Normanton Down Barrows and on down in to the beautiful Woodford valley with some stunning views back to Stonehenge. Along the way, there is beautiful countryside and some interesting old buildings

Continue to Old Sarum - Total Time 6 Hours; Total Distance 11 Miles
For the adventurous (and fit!!) the walk can finish at Old Sarum with its stunning views over the medieval city of Salisbury.

If you wish to finish (or stop during ) your walk with lunch, we can book a table at a charming riverside pub.

Other walks include a visit to the remains of Clarendon Palace where Henry Part of Clarendon Palace remains.II and Thomas Becket ended up in a dispute which ultimately led to his murder in 1170 and his very rapid canonization to Saint Thomas Becket. This site is rarely visited but was one of the most important royal palaces in the 1100s. This is a walk of 4 miles and offers some of the best distant views of Salisbury Cathedral.

*Please note -
All times and distances are approximate and allow for commentary on the landscape and views.

The walk can start and finish at any location. Allow an extra hour to walk around Stonehenge.

Entrance to Stonehenge and Old Sarum is payable at cost on the day.
